Excursion Details

Depart the Port of Salvador and head to the Ribeira neighborhood at the Bay of All Saints, once home to major shipbuilding yards. Pause to enjoy panoramic views and explore local shops, including a renowned ice cream parlour. Visit the famous Church of Senhor do Bonfim, with about 40 minutes to explore its spiritual and cultural atmosphere and browse religious shops. Journey through the Lower City, passing landmarks like the Sanctuary and Hospital of Santa Dulce dos Pobres, Fonte Nova Arena, and Dique do Tororó. Admire symbols of the Orixás from the bus. Arrive at Barra Lighthouse, with a stop to enjoy and photograph the Bay of All Saints. Conclude at Modelo Market with 30 minutes for shopping and souvenirs, before returning to the port.

The Bonfim Church is closed on Mondays, and the visit will be external only. On Sundays, the Modelo Market closes at 1 p.m. Space is limited, so we recommend booking in advance. PELOURINHO WALKING TOUR

Experience a 3-hour walking tour through Pelourinho, Salvador’s historic heart, with stops at the iconic Mercado Modelo, Lacerda Elevator, and the most charming colonial streets and landmarks of the city.

Excursion Details

Depart from the pier for an immersive walk. First stop at Mercado Modelo for about 30 minutes to appreciate local crafts and the vibrant atmosphere. Proceed to Lacerda Elevator for a 20-minute stop with spectacular views of Todos os Santos Bay. Continue with a 1 hour and 50 minutes walking tour through Salvador’s Historic Center, discovering churches, squares, and monuments. Return to the pier with a final 20-minute stop at Mercado Modelo for last-minute shopping and city views before boarding.

Important Information:

Although this tour is suitable for families, the route includes walking on uneven paths and cobblestones and is not suitable for people with reduced mobility. We recommend that travelers wear comfortable shoes and a hat.

Lunch is not included in the tour price. The itinerary and places visited on this excursion may change during the Brazilian Carnival, so check with the Excursions Office as soon as you board. Begin at the starting point for a day rich in culture and history. First stop is the Farol da Barra for 40 minutes to savour views of the Bay of All Saints and capture memorable. Continue to photos Church of Bonfim, with 30 minutes to explore the church and its surroundings, including religious shops. Head to Pelourinho, Salvador’s historic heart, with free time to walk cobblestone streets, admire colonial architecture, and visit churches and squares. Next, visit Mercado Modelo for s for shopping and discovering Bahian crafts and local products. Return to the starting point, concluding at the port. Enjoy approximately 1-hour lunch break at a local restaurant, sampling Bahian cuisine. Return with a 20-minute journey to the port.

You will depart from the port on a journey of approximately 1 hour to Flamengo Beach, located on Salvador’s northern coastline. Traveling along the city’s scenic seafront towards the northern coast, you will pass by the beautiful beaches of Ondina and Rio Vermelho, with a photo stop at the Iemanjá Temple, dedicated to the Queen of the Sea.

Continuing the trip, you will arrive at Flamengo Beach, where you will enjoy free time to swim in the sea or engage in leisure activities. Take the opportunity to savor delicious dishes featuring seafood, meats, and chicken, and don’t miss the refreshing tropical fruit cocktails offered at the beach. At the scheduled time, we will begin our return to the port.

After a short vehicle transfer, you will arrive at Praia da Preguiça, where local community guides will welcome you and prepare the group for the canoe adventure. As you paddle through the calm waters of Baía de Todos os Santos toward the iconic Forte de São Marcelo — a historic floating fortress with stunning views — you will learn about the region’s marine life, coastal vegetation, and cultural heritage. Along the way, local fishermen’s stories bring the bay to life, adding depth to the journey.

Participants will also take part in a symbolic environmental action, collecting small floating debris with hand nets to help preserve the bay. Near the fortress, there is a supervised stop for a refreshing swim (life vests provided), along with free time to relax and take photos.
