Nassau, the capital of the Bahamas, is primed for sightseeing, and this driving-based excursion of around two hours covers some of the city’s most easily accessible attractions. Begin with a short drive to Rawson Square, a historic public plaza that acts as a natural starting point for exploring Nassau.
From here, it’s about a 15-minute drive to Atlantis Paradise Island, a huge complex featuring sandy beaches, rides and restaurants. After driving past Atlantis, there’s a short, scenic bus tour of colourful Potter’s Cay, home to a buzzing fish market, before the excursion continues to the Queen’s Staircase. You’ll then have around 15 minutes to admire the 66 steps of this carved limestone staircase, which links 18th-century Fort Fincastle with the city.
Afterwards, there’s another short drive past Gregory’s Arch, a pink-hued gateway chiselled out of stone, and Government House, the similarly salmon-coloured residence of the Bahamas’governor-general, before a stop of about 30 minutes at John Watling’s Distillery, set on an 18th-century estate. Here, you’ll be welcomed with a sample of pina colada to try before learning how the popular spirit is made.
The next 20 minutes are taken up with a drive and stop-off encompassing Fish Fry – a locally loved strip of restaurants and food vendors – and sandy Junkanoo Beach. Grab some photos of these two sights before a short drive back to the ship, along the way passing Straw Market, an open-air hub selling handmade gifts and craft items.
Important Information: The driver of this tour is also the guide. The barrier-free tour is designed to be universally accessible, avoiding steps/stairs throughout. Wheelchair-accessible toilet facilities are available at John Watlings Distillery. An accessible vehicle with a wheelchair lift or ramp will be used for transportation. Guides are not permitted to push wheelchairs.
The order in which sites are visited or viewed may vary. The price of the tour includes transportation, tour guide and admission fees; it excludes the cost of lunch/snacks. As the number of wheelchair-accessible vehicles is extremely limited in many ports, guests are encouraged to make reservations for barrier-free shore excursions as early as possible.

Guests who are fully dependent on their mobility device are required to bring their own wheelchair/scooter and are requested to use code NASEAW when booking the tour. Please note: Guests must be at least 21 years old to consume alcohol. The driver of this tour is also the guide. This tour is not a shopping-focused experience.
While vendors may be present at select stops, shopping is at the guest’s discretion and the primary focus of the tour is on exploring the history and highlights of the island
