MONTEVIDEO HIGHLIGHTS and MATUTE BREWERY
Embark on a unique experience that blends Montevideo’s historic charm with its rich craft beer scene. This guided tour offers the opportunity to visit two renowned breweries in the city, where you can taste a selection of craft beers paired with local appetizers.
Excursion Details
Departure from the pier and transfer to Plaza Independencia, where you will make a stop of approximately 20 minutes for photos and to enjoy the area. Continue to Parque Batlle, stopping for 15 minutes to photograph the famous monument La Carreta. Next, visit the impressive Legislative Palace, allowing 15 minutes for photos of its architecture. After the sightseeing tour, visit Matute Brewery, run by a chef who has inspired his creations based on traditional family recipes. Enjoy about 1 hour of a guided tour through the brewery facilities, followed by a tasting of four different types of beer, accompanied by cheese, seasoned nuts, a local snack, and a sweet dessert. Return directly to the port after the experience at the brewery.
Important Information:
The order of the excursion may vary, and the visit to the brewery may occur before or after the sightseeing tour. One alfajor per person is included in this excursion. Travelers must be 18 or older to consume alcoholic beverages; minors will receive non-alcoholic drinks during the tasting. The number of guides who speak languages other than Spanish is limited. If no tour guide is available in your language, the excursion will only be offered in Spanish. Transfer times, free time, and duration of stay at each stop are approximate and may change without notice.
