Excursion Details

Depart from the port for a panoramic tour of Ilhéus, reaching a traditional cocoa farm after 30 minutes. Spend 90 minutes exploring cocoa plantations and the processing area, learning about cocoa’s history and production. Enjoy a tasting of authentic cocoa juice. Afterwards, enjoy free time for photos and to absorb the region’s significance. Before returning, stop at the Homemade Chocolate Factory store to purchase artisanal chocolates.

Important Information:

This tour is only available in Portuguese. For all cruises and Grand Voyages (to/from Europe), check with the onboard excursion department for availability in English, Spanish, Italian, German, and French.

The tour includes light walking over uneven and unpaved terrain. The stop for shopping is at the store, and there is no visit to the chocolate factory. This tour will not be canceled due to weather conditions (rain). Guests with any food intolerances must notify the excursions office onboard at least two days before the port of call. Stop times and free time are approximate and subject to change

Excursion Details

Travel for 40 minutes along Latin America’s first park road to reach Praia Pé de Serra, a pristine beach haven on the Cocoa Coast. Upon arrival, relax in a rustic cabana or savour freshly prepared local dishes. Enjoy approximately 3.5 hours to stroll the sands or contemplate the emerald-green sea. On your return, stop for 30 minutes at the Homemade Chocolate Factory store for local chocolates and souvenirs.

This tour is only available in Portuguese. For all cruises and Grand Voyages (to/from Europe), check with the excursion desk for availability in German, French, Italian, and English. The bus ride from Ilhéus to Praia Pé de Serra may take up to 60 minutes. Extremely limited spaces.

Reserve in advance to avoid disappointment. Lunch is optional and not included. The stop at the chocolate store depends on traffic conditions.
