BEST OF COZUMEL

Soak up highlights of Cozumel during this approximately four-hour excursion. You’ll be able to sample Mexican specialities and treats, including tequila and locally made chocolate, and make photo stops at San Martín Beach and other key sights.

On this excursion of around four hours, explore the culture of Cozumel, the largest island off the Yucatán Peninsula, through sightseeing and tastings of local foods and Mexican flavors.

Begin with a transfer from the port of around 25 minutes. Your first stop is Zacil de la Cocay, a restaurant where you’ll spend approximately one hour exploring the origins of cocoa, which derives from cacao beans that the Maya once also used as currency. In addition to learning about the manufacturing process that turns cacao into chocolate, you’ll also view a demonstration with a tasting at the end. This is followed by a tequila tasting, where you’ll discover how the Mexican spirit is produced using the blue Weber agave plant (agave tequilana), a large succulent with long, spiked leaves similar to aloe vera.

Afterwards you’ll spend around 45 minutes visiting Bee Friendly, a conservation project and sanctuary that aims to protect bees. Here, you’ll learn about the historical importance of the stingless Melipona bee, a native of the Yucatán Peninsula and closely associated with the Maya civilization, to which it was sacred. You’ll also get to taste some different varieties of honey.

Next you’ll take an approximately 40-minute scenic drive along the east coast of the island, heading south to San Martín Beach, where there’s a short photo stop to capture pictures of the long, sandy shores and the Caribbean Sea.

Then continue heading south to the final stop, El Mirador. This popular lookout point offers views of a distinctive, naturally formed rock arch that stretches over the sea. You’ll spend around 40 minutes here, grabbing photos of the rugged rock formations, or a quick bite, before the return transfer back to the port, lasting approximately 30 minutes.

CLEAR-BOTTOMED KAYAK & BEACH SNORKEL COMBO

View the Caribbean’s underwater beauty in a unique way – by paddling over a coral reef in a clear-bottomed kayak on this approximately three-and-a-half-hour excursion. There’s also an optional snorkelling session for those who want to continue the adventure, plus free time at the beach.

The Caribbean Sea is full of marine life and aquatic plants, so take advantage of the chance to see some of it up-close without even getting wet. This excursion of approximately three and a half hours allows guests to hop in a clear-bottomed kayak and glide over the Caribbean waters, observing the colourful underwater worlds beneath.

Begin with an approximately 15-minute taxi transfer from the port to Playa Uvas Beach Club, where you’ll spend around 15 minutes getting ready and picking up your kayak. Then set off into the water on an adventure of approximately 45 minutes. Cozumel is known for its array of marine life and extensive coral reefs, so you’ll be in for a visual journey as you gaze through the clear base of your kayak, although sightings can never be guaranteed.

After the kayaking, there’s around 15 minutes to disembark your boat, before an optional snorkelling session of approximately 45 minutes begins for those who want to get even closer to the underwater action. Notably clear waters have made Cozumel a snorkelling hotspot, so you don’t have to be an experienced snorkeller to enjoy the region’s marine biodiversity.

Following the snorkelling session, you’ll have approximately one hour of free time back at the beach. Top up your tan, cool down in the shade or get back in the sea for a swim if you want to make the most of those Caribbean waters. Complimentary fresh fruit and two free drinks will be served to keep you refreshed, and further food and drink is available to purchase from the beach club’s restaurant (at an additional cost). Afterwards, an approximately 15-minute transfer returns to the port.

XCARET ECO PARK

Enjoy a day of swimming, animal encounters and learning about local culture during this approximately eight-hour excursion to Xcaret. You’ll have plenty of time to make full use of the venue, which is a combination of theme park, water park, zoo, archaeological site and cultural centre.

This approximately eight-hour excursion provides a day pass to soak up the multilayered fun available at Xcaret, a vast and all-encompassing adventure park complex that really does offer something for everything.

The day begins with a ferry ride from the port to Playa del Carmen, lasting around 45 minutes. After a walk of about 15 minutes, board a bus for the approximately 30-minute journey to Xcaret.

Once arrived, a guide will help you get situated, let you know what there is to do at Xcaret and answer any questions. Guests then have at least four hours, approximately, to explore the entire park, surrounded by jungle on one side and the Caribbean Sea on the other. There are more than 50 attractions to visit around Xcaret, including a coral reef aquarium, a butterfly pavilion and restored Maya ruins. Spend your time swimming in underground rivers, making feathered friends at a bird sanctuary and learning about local culture.

A bus transfer of around 30 minutes, followed by an approximately 15-minute walk, transports you to the pier at Playa del Carmen. From here, there’s a return ferry ride of around 45 minutes back to the port.

Important Information: Please note: Xcaret Park is located on mainland while the ship is in Cozumel. Transfer by ferry to Playa del Carmen lasts approximately 45 minutes and could possibly be rough depending on the sea conditions.

Once in mainland it is an approximately 45 mins bus drive each way to/from Xcaret, for a total travel time from the ship to and from Xcaret Park of approximately 1 hour and 30 minutes each way. Xcaret is an iconic however very large over 200 acres property with many activities and exhibits for guests to enjoy during their self-exploration. Please note, in consideration of transfer time from / to Cozumel and ship time in port, the time spent at Xcaret Park will be limited and may not allow to enjoy all of the available activities.

Estimated stay at the park: 4 hrs. Tour price stays unchanged as Xcaret currently only offers one set of rates. There is no differentiation between half and full day rates.  The price of the tour includes use of a life vest for swimming in the river; if required, snorkel equipment can be hired at additional expense. Optional activities, as well as any food or beverages, are available at additional costs. Swimwear, a hat and change of clothes are recommended. Guests will meet the guide on arrival in Playa del Carmen.

THREE REEF SNORKEL

Enjoy sightseeing and snorkelling during this approximately three-and-a-half-hour visit to the Arrecifes de Cozumel National Park. The excursion includes a boat trip, equipment and stops at three snorkel spots, providing a chance to try and spot marine wildlife.

Cozumel is home to the Arrecifes de Cozumel National Park, an underwater marine park that’s part of the Mesoamerican Barrier Reef System, the world’s second-largest living coral reef. This excursion of around three and a half hours is an opportunity to take an underwater adventure in the park.

Board your dive boat at the pier for a journey of around 30 minutes, during which you’ll be given your snorkel gear, life vest and safety instructions. Arrive at your first snorkel destination, then jump in and explore the reef for approximately 35 minutes, led by a PADI-certified guide.

Another boat ride of about 30 minutes takes you to the second snorkel stop, where you’ll have about half an hour to navigate around the thriving reef. Board the boat once again and, after approximately 25 minutes you’ll reach the third destination for a final snorkelling session of around 30 minutes.

As you explore the waters throughout the excursion, look out for all kinds of species and sights. A boat transfer of around half an hour then returns to the pier.

DOLPHIN SWIM WITH ALL INCLUSIVE FOOD & DRINKS

Meet and swim with dolphins during this approximately three-and-a-half-hour excursion to the Dolphinaris marine habitat. The itinerary also includes unlimited food and drink at one of the venue’s restaurants.

Those wanting to fulfil their dreams of getting up-close to a dolphin will adore this approximately three-and-a-half-hour excursion to Dolphinaris, located next to the Caribbean Sea.

At the start of the excursion, there’s a short time at the pier as guests assemble, check in and have a briefing. Following a short taxi ride, arrive at Dolphinaris and spend around 15 minutes getting ready and renting a locker and towels, if needed. The next 20 minutes or so is used for guests to be given a life vest and put into a group, before watching a presentation from staff.

Next, head to the ocean coves, where you’ll step onto the onto the shallow-water platform and prepare for an extraordinary connection with your dolphin companion. This is your moment to truly bond—feel the rhythm of nature as you listen to the dolphin’s heartbeat, and don’t miss the heart-melting “Smile ” behavior, where a playful tickle prompts a wide, cheerful grin. And the ultimate highlight: a double dolphin kiss on both cheeks! Following this, you will be able to use your snorkel mask to see how this beautiful animal swims and glides through the crystal waters.

Afterwards, you’ll be able to use approximately 30 minutes to make use of the other activities at Dolphinaris (depending on weather conditions), including snorkelling with tropical fish, kayaking and paddleboarding. By now you’ll have worked up an appetite, so visit one of the park’s restaurants for an all-inclusive lunch. You’ll have around one hour to enjoy a mix of Mexican and international food, accompanied by both alcoholic and soft drinks. You can also visit the gift shop during this time, too. A short transfer then returns to the port, concluding the excursion.

Important Information: Guests will be required to wash their hands before and after the animal interaction. All children must be accompanied by an adult and must be 4ft tall. All participants must know how to swim. Guests are recommended to bring towel, swimwear and a change of clothing, but must refrain from wearing either jewellery or sunscreen as these may damage the dolphins’sensitive skin. Please ensure your sunscreen is fully biodegradable as normal sunscreen is prohibited from use due to the damage it causes to the reef. Camera and videos are not allowed in the dolphin area, but guests can take pictures from the restaurant and bar area.

The Dolphin program, food, beverages, and round trip transportation are all available under the all-inclusive plan, while photos, souvenirs, towels and lockers have an extra cost. TULUM MAYAN RUINS

Visit an ancient Maya city built on the Caribbean Sea during this approximately eight-hour excursion to Tulum. You’ll get the chance to explore ancient ruins and visit a distinctive lighthouse-temple. A light packed lunch is included.

The Maya city of Tulum is one of Mexico’s most-visited archaeological zones, thanks to its well-preserved structures and unique clifftop location overlooking the Caribbean Sea. This excursion of around eight hours lets you explore the centuries-old ruins and learn their history from a guide. You’ll also receive a light packed lunch to enjoy during the day.

Board a ferry at the port in Cozumel for an approximately 45-minute journey to Playa del Carmen, a popular coastal city in the Mexican state of Quintana Roo. Then walk for 15 minutes or so to your bus transfer to Tulum, which lasts about an hour.

Once arrived, your guided tour begins. Over the course of approximately two hours, discover this ancient civilisation’s history and traditions through restored temples, famous frescoes and centuries-old hieroglyphics. A highlight will be visiting El Castillo, a temple-cum-lighthouse that rises above the rest of the park.

A bus transfer of around an hour then returns to Playa del Carmen. Following an approximately 15-minute walk to the pier, embark on your ferry ride back to Cozumel, lasting around 45 minutes.

Once in mainland, it is an approximately 1 hour transfer by bus to/from Tulum, for a total travel time from the ship to and from Tulum of approximately 1 hour and 45 minutes each way. No tripods and/or professional video cameras are allowed.

OPEN-AIR BUGGY & SNORKEL

Adventure your way through sea and land on this excursion of approximately five hours, which combines a self-drive open-air buggy ride with snorkelling and even some historical insights. You’ll also be able to relax on the beach – with lunch included – and visit an ancient Maya village.

This varied excursion, lasting approximately five hours, is a chance to explore Cozumel in memorable fashion – drive an open-air buggy to the coast, followed by a snorkelling session and a beach break. There’s also a chance to learn more about the area and its culture, during a visit to a Maya village.

Begin the excursion by getting straight into the action. Hop into your open-air buggy and start driving, departing the port on a 20-minute journey to Playa Uvas, a beach club on the west of the island. Once arrived at your destination, you’ll receive a safety briefing and instructions from guides, before embarking on a snorkelling adventure of around 55 minutes. As you explore the waters of the Caribbean Sea, look out for all kinds of marine life and plant life.

Afterwards, return to your open-air buggy for a 45-minute drive to Punta Morena Beach, where you’ll have approximately 90 minutes of time to relax and enjoy the sun, sea and scenery. A traditional-style Mexican lunch will also be served during this time.

Next, climb back into your open-air buggy and drive for around 15 minutes to a nearby Maya village. Here, spend approximately one hour learning about Maya culture. A short tequila tasting will also take place during this hour.

Finally, return to the port on an approximately 15-minute drive.

EXPLORING COZUMEL BY JEEP & SNORKEL

Discover Mexico’s largest inhabited island on this approximately five-hour self-drive Jeep excursion. Head to the beach in the Punta Sur eco-park, explore Mayan ruins and a lighthouse, and embark on a snorkelling session, followed by a Mexican lunch and tequila tasting.

Combine a road trip and underwater exploration on this excursion lasting approximately five hours, which provides a deeper look into the largest island in the Mexican Caribbean. Spend a short time departing from the pier and getting into your Jeep, before driving for around 40 minutes across the island to Punta Sur, a coastal nature reserve featuring more than 1,000 hectares (2,500 acres) of protected lagoons and beaches.

Spend around 25 minutes brushing up on your history at a Mayan ruin, then try to spot some crocodiles from the lookout. A short drive takes you to Cozumel’s Celarain Lighthouse – a towering white beacon in the landscape – and its attached museum. Spend around 20 minutes here, viewing the museum’s maritime exhibits and information, and perhaps also climbing the lighthouse’s many stairs to take in far-reaching sea vistas.

Following a drive to the beach of approximately 15 minutes, it’s time for a guided snorkel trip in the waters of the Caribbean, which lasts around 45 minutes. Look out for all kinds of underwater plant life and marine creatures.

Then enjoy about one hour and 20 minutes of free time relaxing and refuelling on the beach, including a Mexican lunch and a tequila tasting. The drive back to the pier takes around one hour.

SAN GERVASIO MAYAN RUINS & BEACH COMBO

Take a closer look at Cozumel and the island ‘s Maya culture on a visit to the San Gervasio archaeological site, followed by a chocolate experience and tasting. Lasting around four and a half hours, this excursion also includes a visit to the Playa Uvas beach club for relaxation and a tequila tasting.

Excursion Details

Combine a journey through ancient history with time at the beach and sampling Mexican flavours on this excursion of approximately four and a half hours.

Begin with a transfer to the ruins of San Gervasio in the north of the island, which takes around 25 minutes. For hundreds of years until the 16th century, this archaeological site was a place of worship dedicated to Ixchel, the Maya goddess of childbirth, fertility and medicine. Explore the remains for approximately 45 minutes with a guide, who will explain the significance of structures around the site.

Next, spend approximately 30 minutes visiting Zacil de La Cocay, a restaurant where you ‘ll learn about the history and production of chocolate, and the importance of cacao beans in Maya culture. Following a demonstration, you ‘ll then get to taste some chocolate.

Afterwards, there ‘s a drive of around 30 minutes to Playa Uvas, a beach club on the west of the island, where you will be welcomed with a hibiscus-based drink. Enjoy approximately two hours and 10 minutes of free time here, swimming in the sea or the beach club ‘s pools, relaxing on the sand or simply admiring the coastal scenery. Your free time here also includes a tequila tasting, meaning you ‘ll get to sample some of the hugely popular Mexican spirit and learn more about its distillation and production. To conclude the excursion, a short drive returns you to the port.

ATVS ADVENTURE TO JADE CAVERN CENOTE SINGLE

Drive an all-terrain vehicle (ATV) to the Jade Cavern cenote – one of Cozumel’s tucked-away treasures – on this adventurous excursion, lasting around three and a half hours, including transportation. As well as taking a swim in the sinkhole, you’ll also visit another jungle cave, with plenty of off-road riding throughout the trip.

Explore Cozumel’s jungle in thrilling style on this approximately three-and-a-half-hour excursion, including transportation, which puts you in the driving seat of an ATV. Ride off-road and through diverse landscapes to reach two fascinating destinations, including a cenote (or sinkhole) where you can take a swim.

Begin by departing the port on a transfer of around 30 minutes, which takes you to El Cedral, a village that houses what is believed to be Cozumel’s oldest Maya ruin. Spend around 15 minutes at a welcome station in the village, getting equipped with your ATV kit and receiving a safety and instructional briefing.

Then start your engine and begin riding, letting your ATV show its capabilities as you traverse an off-road route of around 10 kilometres (six miles). After this exciting ride, you’ll arrive at the Jade Cavern cenote, located deep in the jungle. This naturally occurring sinkhole (one of the many thousands across Mexico) is filled with emerald-green colour water – the reason behind its enchanting name. Feel free to take a dip, surrounded by wild vegetation.

Following your time at Jade Cavern, yet-more thrilling ATV riding awaits, as you spend around 15 minutes driving along rugged paths, making your way to a nearby coral cave. Spend approximately 15 minutes here, driving along a passage through the cave, before a final ride of approximately 20 minutes takes you back to the welcome station at El Cedral. The entire ATV experience and visit to Jade Cavern lasts approximately two hours.

Spend around 15 minutes returning your ATV before the return transfer back to the port, lasting approximately 30 minutes.

Important Information: Please Note: The ATV is a single-seater tandem unit. Guests must be at least 18 years of age to drive the ATV’s and must present a valid driver’s license.
