Excursion Details

Your excursion begins with a departure from the pier heading towards the Peninsula, where you will have the opportunity to admire the beautiful view and take photos for about 10 minutes at the Lighthouse Square. After this stop, you will continue the journey to La Barra, a charming neighborhood, where you will take a 15-minute break to capture the location in photos. Then, you will travel along a scenic road, passing through residential areas, until you reach Punta Ballena, a spectacular viewpoint.

There, you will visit the iconic Casa Pueblo, a unique work of art designed by Uruguayan artist Carlos Páez Vilaró. You will have 1 hour to explore and be enchanted by the architecture and stunning views. After the visit to Casa Pueblo, you will head to the famous “Hand of Punta Ballena,” where you will have free time to enjoy the view and take photos of this famous sculpture. Finally, you will return to the pier, with a relaxing trip back, taking advantage of the remaining time to relax and enjoy the scenery along the way.

Your excursion begins with a departure from the pier towards the Peninsula, where you will make a 10-minute stop at Praça do Farol to capture the view and take some photos. Then, you will head to La Barra, a charming neighborhood, where you will have 20 minutes to explore and take more photos of this lovely area. Afterward, you will be taken along a scenic road, passing residential areas, until you reach the Ralli Museum.

During the approximately 45-minute drive, you can enjoy the beauty of the surrounding landscapes. At the Ralli Museum, you will have one hour to explore the impressive works of art and discover the exclusive collection of Latin American art. After the visit to the museum, you will continue to the famous “Mão de Punta Ballena,” where you will have free time to enjoy the view and take more photos of this iconic sculpture. Finally, you will return to the pier, enjoying the remaining time relaxing and admiring the landscape along the way.

Excursion Details

The excursion begins with a scenic tour of this luxury resort, passing through residential areas such as Cantegril, San Rafael, Parque Golf, and La Barra de Maldonado, known for its unique undulating bridges. Then, your journey will take you to some of Punta’s natural wonders – the beaches. Stop at Punta Ballena to admire the breathtaking views of the coast before finishing your trip at Casa Pueblo, the home and studio of the late renowned artist Carlos Páez Vilaró.

This stunning white complex, a unique construction with curved walls, is located on a rocky cliff overlooking the ocean. Páez Vilaró built it in 1958 with his own hands using only traditional tools. Narrow steps lead to a maze of rooms spread across different levels, filled with the artist’s works. You will visit Carlos Páez Vilaró’s private studio, located in the highest dome of Casa Pueblo, his architectural masterpiece, on the rocky cliffs of Punta Ballena. For the first time, this studio is being opened only for special groups; it is not available to the public. On the private terrace overlooking the sea, called “Plácido Domingo Terrace” named in honour of the Spanish tenor who occupied the place next to Páez Vilaró – you can enjoy a glass of wine or champagne, accompanied by selected cheeses and cold cuts. After visiting Casa Pueblo, you will return to the port via the picturesque coastal road.

Excursion Details

Embark on a cultural tour that not only explores the main attractions of the famous Punta del Este coastline but also includes a visit to a nonprofit foundation that promotes different forms of art. On a panoramic bus tour lasting about 1 hour and 30 minutes, you will enjoy stunning views of Punta del Este and travel through the neighborhoods of Cantegril, Parque del Golf, and La Barra, with their beautiful bridges. You will also visit the Pablo Atchugarry Foundation, a nonprofit institution created in 2007 by Uruguayan sculptor Pablo Atchugarry.

The foundation complex, part of the Punta del Este Sculpture Park, offers visitors a pleasant environment surrounded by nature, where they can appreciate works by artists from around the world and explore a charming chapel. The visit to the foundation will take about 1 hour and 15 minutes. After which, you will head to another local sculpture, La Mano, a giant hand emerging from the sand, and a great spot for photos! Finally, the trip back to the ship will conclude the tour.

Here, you will make another 20-minute stop to admire and photograph the stunning panoramic views. The highlight of the tour will be at a local restaurant, where you will be invited to taste three delicious traditional desserts from Uruguay. Indulge in the famous flan with dulce de leche, a homemade alfajor, and the traditional Martin Fierro, a combination of local cheese with quince jelly. To accompany, you can choose either a hot or cold beverage. The tasting lasts approximately 30 minutes.
