GUIDED OCEAN CAY LIGHTHOUSE CLIMB

Ocean Cay’s lighthouse is a much-loved feature of MSC Cruises’private island in The Bahamas. Standing at around 100 feet in height, this red-and-white-striped beacon has become a landmark on the island. Get to know this marvellous building on a guided climb, lasting approximately 30 minutes.
Begin with a short walk to the lighthouse, located on Lighthouse Bay Beach. After you’ve met your guide there, you’ll be given a short briefing before starting the ascent, totalling three levels and 165 steps.
Once you’ve scaled the steps and reached the summit, you’ll be rewarded with 360-degree views from the island’s highest point. You’ll have around 15 minutes at the top to look out for other nearby islands across the water, as well as vistas of Ocean Cay itself and your cruise ship.
During the ascent, your guide will give you information about the history of the lighthouse, as well as telling you about Ocean Cay’s transformation over the years. Once you’ve descended the steps to return to the bottom of the lighthouse, the excursion concludes.
Important Information: Guests must be able to navigate 165 steps up to the top of the lighthouse to participate on this tour.
