JEEP & BEACH TOUR
Explore the shores of Costa Maya by driving a Jeep Renegade on this approximately three-and-a-half-hour excursion. Your scenic drive will take you to a beach club, where there’s free time to swim, sunbathe and relax. Lunch is also included.
This approximately three-and-a-half-hour excursion is the perfect way to get to know Costa Maya’s coastal landscapes – and you’ll be doing it all by driving a Jeep Renegade. Once you’ve selected a driver from your group (one driver per four-person Jeep), climb into your vehicle and set off from the pier on a journey of around 15 minutes to a local landmark: Mahahual’s lighthouse. Spend approximately 15 minutes viewing the lighthouse, marvelling at how this towering beacon is fully solar-powered.
Then return to your Jeep Renegade and enjoy the ride as you cruise along the coastline near Mahahual. The waters near this former fishing village hold one of Mexico’s largest coral atolls (a circular-shaped coral reef).
After driving for approximately one hour, arrive at a tequila venue, where you’ll spend around 30 minutes learning more about the process of making the popular, agave-based spirit, as well as tasting some for yourself.
Next, drive for around 15 minutes to reach the beach club where you’ll have approximately one hour of free time to enjoy as you wish. Take a dip to cool off, top up your tan by lounging on the sand or take a walk around the area to get further acquainted with the local flora and fauna. A complimentary lunch is also included during this time. Finally, make the return drive to the port, lasting about 15 minutes.
Important Information: Vehicles used on this tour are Jeeps Renegade. All jeeps feature automatic transmission and each jeep seats 4. Guests are recommended to wear comfortable shoes and swimwear under their clothing as well as to bring a towel, a hat, high-factor sunscreen and a some cash to pay for any additional purchases. Guests wishing to drive must be at least 21 years of age and in possession of a valid driving licence. Guests must be at least 4 years of age to take part in the tour. The tour is not available for pregnant women and guests with pre-existing back/neck injuries.
Guests will be required to sign a waiver which may only be available in English. The tour price includes CDW (collision damage waiver) insurance with a $2000.00 deductible. The deductible is fully or partially charged to the driver’s credit card in the event the jeep is returned damaged
