Your journey begins with an approximate 40-minute drive to Penelope Beach Club & Lahun Tiku, where you will step into a vibrant coastal setting that beautifully reflects the heart of Mexican culture. This region is known for its picturesque beaches and its deep-rooted connection to Mayan heritage.
Once you arrive, participate in an approximately 1.5-hour hands-on cooking class, guided by local culinary experts. You will prepare regional favorites such as handmade tortillas, tacos, and fresh salsas, each recipe using time-honored techniques and fresh, local ingredients. Dive deeper into Mexico’s culinary history by learning about “El Pib,” the traditional Mayan underground cooking method, and savor a refreshing Mayan beverage as part of your experience. Following your class, enjoy free time by the coast.
