NATURE’S HIDDEN TREASURES and CARIB INDIANS
The island of Dominica is not only home to a ruggedly verdant landscape, but also boasts a number of waterfalls, one of which you will visit on this nature-based tour. You’ll first head towards the rainforest to visit the Jacko Falls. Spend approximately 30 minutes here and choose from either walking to a vantage point for views of the falls, or venturing down the steps to reach the pool at the bottom for a dip in the water. The next stop on the tour will be for an approximately 1-hour buffet lunch served in the eco-village built by Carib Indians, who will also entertain you with a folkloric dance show.
You’ll also have time to enjoy the riverside setting before a drive through the Carib Territory. Another vantage point follows at Morne Bruce, from where you will spend a short 15 minutes to enjoy views of the city and your ship. Your final stop will be at the Botanical Gardens, situated in Roseau itself and home to a wide variety of exotic plants and birds, among them two endangered species of parrot. You will spend approximately 15 minutes here before heading back to your ship.
Please note: the tour itinerary includes travelling on winding roads.
Guests are recommended to wear swimwear under their clothes, bring towels and take a raincoat. The order of stops visited may vary. To reach the viewpoint at Jacko Falls, guests will be required to walk approximately 30 meters on flat terrain, with 60 steps down to the waterfall pool should guests choose to swim
