BECOME A URUGUAYAN FOOTBALL FAN
An immersive experience into Uruguay’s football culture, with a visit to Estadio Centenario, the Football Museum, and behind-the-scenes access, combined with a taste of a classic match-day snack.
Excursion Details
The tour begins with a short panoramic drive through the city, including two important stops: Independence Square, the historic center of Montevideo, and the Legislative Palace, a symbol of the nation’s democracy. From there, the tour continues to Parque Batlle, home to the iconic Estadio Centenario — declared a Monument of World Football by FIFA and host of the first World Cup in 1930.
Upon arrival, you will visit the Football Museum, where trophies, historic items, and exhibits illustrate the legacy of Uruguay’s national team, two-time World Cup champions. The experience then goes behind the scenes with exclusive access to typically restricted areas. You will walk through the players’ tunnel, visit the locker rooms, explore the pitch area, and take a seat in the grandstands to feel the atmosphere that has inspired generations of fans. To complete the visit, you will enjoy a traditional choripán (grilled chorizo sandwich) and a local drink, just as supporters do on match day. A memorable outing for football enthusiasts and anyone interested in Uruguay’s rich sporting heritage.
