OCEAN CAY PADDLEBOARD RENTAL – 1 HR RENTAL

Enjoy a peaceful hour on the water by renting a stand-up paddleboard and exploring the waters of Ocean Cay MSC Marine Reserve.
Excursion details

See Ocean Cay from a different viewpoint, by renting a stand-up paddleboard (known as an SUP) and gently propelling yourself over the waters of the island. You’ll have an hour-long rental of the board and paddle, which begins once you’ve picked up your equipment and signed a waiver.

Then, simply start your SUP trip and enjoy the island scenery in the designated exploration area. Keep an eye out for some of Ocean Cay’s marine wildlife as you float (although sightings cannot be guaranteed), and if you fancy a break at any point, simply head inland to the beach and catch a few minutes of rest before hopping back onto your SUP and continuing the explorations. After one hour is over, return your paddleboard to conclude the excursion.

Important Information: guests must be at least 14 years of age to participate and be accompanied by a parent / guardian the whole time. Guests will be required to sign a waiver which may only be available in English. Guest must be able to maintain themselves in deep water. The spotting of wildlife is not guaranteed

OCEAN CAY KAYAK RENTAL (MAX 2 PAX) 1 HR RENTAL

Kayaking is a great way to explore a new destination, especially when that destination is Ocean Cay, the private Bahamian island of MSC Cruises. This one-hour kayak rental allows you to do just that, and as the kayaks can hold up to two people, you can even explore with a companion.

Begin by picking up your kayak and signing a waiver, before setting off and gently navigating the waters of a designated area. It’s easy to make your kayaking trip as active or relaxing as you like, so feel free to take things at a pace that suits you.

After one hour, return your kayak to conclude the excursion.

Important Information: Guests must be at least 18 years of age to rent a kayak, and be at least 10 years old to participate, a maximum weight restriction of 205 kg/452 lbs per kayak applies. The tour is not available for guests with cardiac disease or back/neck injury. Guests will be required to sign a waiver which may only be available in English. GUIDED OCEAN CAY LIGHTHOUSE CLIMB

Excursion details

Ocean Cay’s lighthouse is a much-loved feature of MSC Cruises’private island in The Bahamas. Standing at around 100 feet in height, this red-and-white-striped beacon has become a landmark on the island. Get to know this marvellous building on a guided climb, lasting approximately 30 minutes.

Begin with a short walk to the lighthouse, located on Lighthouse Bay Beach. After you’ve met your guide there, you’ll be given a short briefing before starting the ascent, totalling three levels and 165 steps.

Once you’ve scaled the steps and reached the summit, you’ll be rewarded with 360-degree views from the island’s highest point. You’ll have around 15 minutes at the top to look out for other nearby islands across the water, as well as vistas of Ocean Cay itself and your cruise ship.

During the ascent, your guide will give you information about the history of the lighthouse, as well as telling you about Ocean Cay’s transformation over the years. Once you’ve descended the steps to return to the bottom of the lighthouse, the excursion concludes.

Important Information: Guests must be able to navigate 165 steps up to the top of the lighthouse to participate on this tour.

OCEAN CAY HOBIE ECLIPSE PADDLEBOARD RENTAL 1 HOUR RENTAL

Paddle or pedal your way around Ocean Cay’s waters with this rental of around one hour, which lets you hire a special stand-up paddleboard that can also be powered using your feet.

Enjoy a unique way of seeing Ocean Cay on this approximately one-hour rental. You’ll be renting a Hobie Eclipse stand-up paddleboard (SUP), which adds a new twist to the SUP format by letting you ‘pedal’the board.

Begin by heading to Bimini Beach, where you’ll sign a waiver and receive a short orientation and guidance on using your paddleboard. Then you’re all set, so it’s time to head out on the water into the designated zones and spend around 50 minutes exploring.

As well as using a standard SUP paddle, you can also hold the handle of the Hobie Eclipse and gently pump the pedals using your feet, powering your board. Feel free to switch between the two methods throughout. However you choose to power your paddleboard, enjoy the surrounding views as you glide across Ocean Cay’s waters.

After your approximately hour-long rental comes to an end, return your paddleboard to conclude the excursion.

OCEAN CAY HOBIE FAMILY KAYAK RENTAL 1 HR RENTAL

Explore the waters of Ocean Cay MSC Marine Reserve with family or friends on this excursion of around one hour, which lets you rent a four-person kayak. As well as manoeuvring your kayak traditionally by using paddles, your group can also pedal the craft with their feet for a change of pace.

Take the next step in kayaking on this approximately hour-long rental, which puts you and up to four people in control of a special ‘pedal-powered’kayak. Start the excursion by navigating to Bimini Beach (a short walk from your cruise ship), where you’ll be able to pick up your Hobie kayak, sign a waiver and receive a short introductory briefing.

Then climb into your vessel and begin your independent exploration for around 50 minutes. You and your group can paddle across Ocean Cay’s waters or use your feet to pedal yourselves around, for a unique and fun way of travelling. Take in the scenery as you navigate around the designated kayaking areas, enjoying the views of the Atlantic Ocean and the island’s surroundings.

Once your approximately hour-long rental comes to an end, return your kayak to the rental station to finish the excursion.

Give your beach day a boost with this excursion, which lets you rent a floating beach mat that can hold up to six people. Reserve your mat in advance, then visit one of Ocean Cay’s rental stations to pick it up. Then you’re ready to spend a leisurely day in and out of the Atlantic waters, enjoying the Bahamian coastal scenery with your group.

Drift around a little on your floating mat or swim alongside it for a change of scene, and head back to the sands whenever you want to rest on dry land. When your day-long rental comes to an end, return your mat and conclude the excursion.

Important Information: The price of this tour is per beach mat. Each beach mat can hold up to 6 guests. Guests must be at least 4 years old to use the beach mat.

OCEAN CAY HOBIE SAILING KAYAK RENTAL 1 HR RENTAL

Begin by making your way to Bimini Beach (a short walk from the ship) and signing a waiver before picking up your rental. Then you’re ready to head out on the water.

The Hobie sailing kayak you’ll be using comes equipped with a special pedal system, meaning you can use your legs to power the craft with only minimal effort needed. Best of all, you don’t need any previous sailing experience, so you can easily set off on your Ocean Cay sightseeing voyage immediately after picking up your kayak. As well as the pedal function, the Hobie kayak’s sail helps it to utilise any breeze that might be present, making drifting across the water even easier.

After an hour or so comes to an end, return your kayak to conclude the rental.

Windsurfing is an enjoyable way to experience Ocean Cay, as you’ll discover on this excursion of around one hour. Make the brief walk to Bimini Beach and sign a waiver to pick up your rental board, which comes fully equipped with a mast and sail.

Once on the board, you’ll be ready to harness the power of the breeze, which will gently propel you across the waters of specially designated exploration zones, allowing you to see the island with ease. It’s a great opportunity for some outdoor activity, while also being relaxed enough to let you appreciate the coastal views and scenery surrounding you.

Once your rental time is over, return your windsurfing board to conclude the excursion.
