EASY & ACCESSIBLE: BASSETERRE
This coach-based tour is suitable for guests using a wheelchair or with limited mobility.
After boarding your coach at the pier, you’ll be taken on a sightseeing drive around the island’s old capital, known for its preserved 17th-century cityscape, making it the oldest in the Eastern Caribbean. Your guide will provide information on the city’s history and point out places of interest such as the Berkley Memorial, Independence Square, St. George’s Anglican Church and the Catholic Co-Cathedral. Leaving the colonial ambience of the capital behind, you’ll then head for Romney Manor Gardens to visit the Caribelle Batik Factory. You’ll have time to explore the barrier-free gardens, observe the batik-making process, and browse the gift shop for a memento before returning to the ship.
Please note: This barrier-free tour is designed to be universally accessible, avoiding steps/stairs throughout. Wheelchair-accessible toilet facilities are available at Romney Manor. An accessible vehicle with a wheelchair lift or ramp will be used for transportation. Guides are not permitted to push wheelchairs. The order in which sites are visited or viewed may vary.
The price of the tour includes transportation, tour guide and admission fees; it excludes the cost of lunch/snacks. As the number of wheelchair-accessible vehicles is extremely limited in many ports, guests are encouraged to make reservations for barrier-free shore excursions as early as possible.
