After disembarking, walk for about 15 minutes to meet your guide and start the tour of downtown Nassau. Spend around one hour strolling past some of the city’s most significant structures and sights. These will include the pink-and-white, neoclassical-styled House of Assembly, where you’ll find out more about how the Bahamas is governed.
There’s also the chance to take a photo of Queen Victoria’s statue before moving on to Fort Fincastle, which has perched on Bennett’s Hill since the late 18th century and offers sweeping views of Nassau. Swing by the Queen’s Staircase (named after Queen Victoria) and walk up its 66 limestone steps before the tour concludes with an approximately 15-minute walk back to the ship.
Important Information: it is recommended that guests wear comfortable walking shoes and bring a hat or sunglasses. Guests will walk approximately 1.5 miles on paved and un-paved surfaces.
Guests will also walk up the Queens Staircase, which is 66 steps. Fort Fincastle will be closed for construction starting from March 2025, which may affect the nearby Queen’s Staircase. As a result, guests may not be able to climb to the top of the staircase
