FAMILY ESCAPE PASS AT GOOD HOPE

FAMILY ESCAPE PASS AT GOOD HOPE

Visit an 18th-century plantation on this approximately three-hour excursion to the Good Hope Estate. You’ll have access to the grounds, the swimming pool and waterfalls, and the array of Georgian buildings.

The Good Hope Estate began in 1774 as a sugar plantation and, post-emancipation, was turned into a village to support its workers. Today, it’s a tourist attraction, complete with adventure activities. This approximately three-hour excursion gives you a chance to see Good Hope’s grounds and buildings.

The journey begins with a bus ride from the port to the estate, lasting around half an hour. Upon arrival, you’ll get registered and be given a brief introduction over 15 minutes or so.

Then spend approximately one hour and 45 minutes exploring the estate at leisure. Wander its 809 hectares of land, bursting with plant life, birds and the Martha Brae River. Or cross the swinging bridge, zoom down a water slide that measures over 90 metres in height and take a dip in the swimming pools. The small on-site village, which has some of the island’s best examples of Georgian architecture, is worth seeing, too. And there’s also the possibility to taste some locally made products, such as Appleton Estate Rum (for an additional cost).

A return bus transfer of around 30 minutes then returns to the port.
